Since end of 2007, Humax ships it's twin HDTV tuner settop-box with hard disk personal video recorder for satellite tv (DVB-S2).
This box is based on linux, but without available source today.
Since Aug 11 2008 the network interface can be used with firmware 1.00.13.
But this interface only implements ftp, and in a very limited manner.
The goal of this project is to set up an improved base operating system, available in full source.
A complete toolchain, crosscompiler and most of the source code is on hand even without any help from the manufacturer.
